Our Saint Martin Tour: A Memorable Journey with the BA3 Digital Marketing Team

Our BA3 Digital Marketing team started our journey from Kishoreganj to Saint Martin with a lot of excitement. The plan was actually made quite suddenly, but after discussing it with everyone, we confirmed the trip. Unfortunately, around five of our colleagues could not join us. Still, 14 of us went on this tour together, and honestly, everyone enjoyed it a lot.

We started our journey from the Boro Pul area of Kishoreganj Sadar. First, we took the Shamim bus towards Cox’s Bazar. We left in the evening and reached Dolphin Mor in Cox’s Bazar at around 8 AM the next morning. Our vehicle was already ready there, so we went straight to the jetty.

From the jetty, we boarded a ship and started our journey towards Saint Martin. For me, this trip was exciting from the very beginning. As soon as the ship started moving, I felt that this journey was going to become a beautiful memory.

Actually, we missed the ship where our seats were booked because of timing issues. So, using the same tickets, we had to take the next ship. Because of that, we did not get proper seats. We spent the journey standing or sitting on the deck. But even without seats, the experience was beautiful.

On the way, we saw the endless blue sea, fishermen’s boats floating on the water, and seagulls flying around the ship. The whole journey felt peaceful and refreshing. After around four hours, we finally reached the Saint Martin jetty.

When we got off the ship, I noticed many families traveling with small children. Inside the ship, the heat was really uncomfortable, especially for the kids. I felt that parents should be a little more careful about this when planning such trips.

After getting off the ship, we headed towards our hotel. To be honest, the hotel was not very good. It had several problems, and later I also mentioned them in a Google review.

After checking in, we went out for lunch. That lunch was one of the most memorable meals of the whole trip. We had sea flying fish, Saint Martin’s tomato bhorta, and dal. I do not know if it tasted so good because we were extremely hungry or because the food was actually amazing, but it felt unbelievably delicious.

Even two or three years after this trip, I still say that the tomato bhorta I had in Saint Martin was one of the best tomato bhortas I have ever eaten.

After lunch, we went to the beach. Many of our teammates went into the sea to take a bath, but I, Mustaim, and a few others did not. We just walked along the beach, dipping our feet in the blue water and enjoying the view.

One thing I noticed is that Saint Martin looks different in the afternoon and completely different at night. The beauty of the afternoon cannot be found at night, and the beauty of the night cannot be understood during the day. While walking by the sea, we did not even realize when the evening turned into night.

At night, the moonlight over the sea created a magical atmosphere. The moon in the sky, the sound of the waves, and the endless sea together created a feeling that is hard to explain. We rented a chair to sit and enjoy the moment, but soon after that, we got a call saying there would be a meeting. So we had to leave in a hurry.

After the meeting, we went out again towards Humayun Ahmed’s Samudra Bilash and the seafood market. On the way, we saw many beautiful resorts near the beach. The lights of the resorts at night, mixed with the sound and view of the sea, looked amazing.

Then we bought seafood, including crab, squid, and shrimp. We all ate together, and that became our dinner for the night. After eating, we walked around for a while, enjoyed the beauty of the sea, and then went back to sleep.

The next morning, we woke up very early and walked around the beach and nearby areas. The beach felt almost like a private beach at that time. We saw some women collecting small stones and shells from the beach, and others were watching people fishing. Yakub Bhai even picked up a starfish and put it in a polythene bag. I still do not know whether he managed to bring it all the way back to Kishoreganj or not.

After that, we went for breakfast. There, Arif created another funny incident. At first, we saw one restaurant was completely full, and since we were 14 people, it would have been difficult to sit there. So we went to the restaurant beside it. Later, we realized it was not a good decision.

The rotis in that restaurant were so thin that even after eating five rotis each, we were still not full. Our colleague Anup Sarkar probably ate the highest number of rotis there. While laughing, Arif broke a chair, and we had to pay a fine of 300 taka for it. It was frustrating at the moment, but now it feels like a funny memory from the trip.

After breakfast, we planned to go to Chera Dwip by bicycle. But the condition of the bicycles was not good, and we thought it would be too difficult for everyone. So we changed the plan and decided to go by auto and van. Some of us went by auto, and some of us went by van towards Chera Dwip.

On the way, we saw several nice resorts. We even stopped at one resort and checked the rooms and the overall environment. After that, we continued our journey towards Chera Dwip.

When we reached there, the beauty of the place completely amazed me. We went during low tide, so the beauty was even greater. The sandy area, the rocks rising from the sea, and the blue water all around created a breathtaking view. In the distance, we could see a Bangladesh Coast Guard ship anchored in the sea and some fishing trawlers floating on the water.

We spent a long time walking around there. Some people tried to catch small fish, some collected shells, and others simply enjoyed the beautiful moment. Honestly, places like this and moments like that do not come often in life.

After spending time at Chera Dwip, we started returning. On the way back, I saw a couple walking while holding hands. With the sea and the peaceful environment around them, the moment felt very natural and beautiful.

After returning from Chera Dwip, we had lunch again at the same restaurant where we had eaten the previous day. This time we had sea shrimp, fried fish, and dal. After lunch, we went to the beach again.

In the afternoon, we all played football on the beach. My team lost, partly because of me, but overall, everyone enjoyed the game. After playing, we walked a little deeper into the seawater. It was a bit scary, but everyone with us enjoyed the experience.

Later, we went back to our hotel rooms, freshened up, and went out again for dinner and sightseeing. That night, our dinner was sponsored, and we had coral fish barbecue with paratha. Unfortunately, after eating that meal, many of us had stomach problems the next day.

That night, we stayed outside for a long time. We walked along the beach, dipped our feet in the water, and spent a peaceful night by the sea.

The next morning, we walked around again. But this time, there was a different feeling because we knew we had to leave that day. While walking, I kept thinking, “Will I ever come back to such a beautiful place again?” Maybe I will, maybe I will not. I do not know. But Saint Martin is the kind of place that refreshes your eyes and brings peace to your heart.

On the day of our return, after checking out from the hotel, I rested for a long time on a chair. I also had a nice chat with Mustaim. Then we got ready to board the ship for our return journey.

When we got on the ship and it started moving, the weather and the view were beautiful. The sun was setting, seagulls were flying, and the sea breeze felt amazing. That was probably the last truly enjoyable moment of our tour. After that, the return journey was not very pleasant.

After getting off the ship, we rushed so that we would not get stuck in traffic. But things did not go as planned. Our vehicle arrived late, and we had to wait. Then we took a Chander Gari towards Cox’s Bazar and spent around three hours there. We bought pickles and dried fish, and then started our journey back home by sleeper bus.

But even there, we faced trouble. Before the bus even crossed Chittagong, it had an accident. A backhoe hit the rear side of the bus so badly that the back part was damaged. After that, there was chaos inside the bus. The bus stopped, we all got down, and we saw that the back of the vehicle was really damaged.

After some discussion, they made us get back on the bus. A little later, another rumor spread that the bus had caught fire. Finally, another bus came and took us all towards our destination. That bus was also not very comfortable, so the journey was difficult for me, but there was nothing we could do.

Later, we got down at Narsingdi and took a Hiace from there to Kishoreganj. And that is how our Saint Martin tour finally came to an end.

Overall, this trip was full of excitement, beauty, laughter, problems, unexpected moments, and unforgettable memories. From the blue sea and moonlit nights to the seafood, Chera Dwip, beach football, and the long return journey, everything became part of one beautiful story.

Saint Martin is truly a place that stays in your heart.
